The general methodological approach of the project is based on the following assumptions:

An ambitious approach in the scientific-technical goals based on in-depth theoretical developments aimed at obtaining algorithmic designs capable of achieving competitive advantage in the mid-term.

Consideration of the general problems of data transmision and information extraction from data in distributed systems, and their relationship.

Application of multidisciplinar and complimentary techniques to both data transmission and distributed information extraction problems to obtain efficient algorithms and performance measures and limits.

The practical application of the theoretical developments by means of the implementation of technological prototypes for specific applications: indoor navigation, domestic monitoring (with special emphasis in the care of dependent or handicapped people), and security in large-scale indoor facilities.
